This 7-day Rwenzori trek begins at Trekkers Hostel (1,450m) and climbs through Afro-Montane forest to Sine Camp (2,596m), with monkeys, birds, and Enock’s Falls nearby. Hikers continue via Kalalama and Mutinda Camp (3,588m), with an option to Mutinda Lookout (3,975m).

The route passes bamboo, rivers, waterfalls, and valleys with lobelias and groundsel before reaching Bugata (4,100m) and Hunwick’s Camp (3,974m). Day 5 summits Mt Baker (4,844m) with glacier crossings.

Descents pass Oliver’s Pass, Weismann’s Peak, and Kiharo Camp (3,640m), ending along Nyamwamba Valley back to basecamp. Scenic views, wildlife, and peaks highlight the adventure.

  • Spot rare alpine plants such as giant groundsel and giant lobelia and see the Malachite Sunbird feeding on lobelia flowers.

  • Reach Hunwick’s Camp with views of Mount Stanley, Mount Baker, and surrounding peaks.

  • Climb Mount Baker at 4,842 meters and see glaciers and the snow covered peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains.

  • Cross Oliver’s Pass at about 4,505 meters with views of the surrounding mountain peaks.

  • Optional hike to Weismann’s Peak at 4,620 meters for views of Mount Stanley, Mount Speke, and Mount Baker.

  • Descend through the Nyamwamba Valley with views of rivers, waterfalls, moss covered rocks, and deep valleys.

  • See wildlife such as Rwenzori red duiker, birds, and hyrax along the forest trails.

  • Finish the trek through thick forest and river valleys back to the base camp.
