This 3-Day Sasa Trail Trek in Mount Elgon takes you to Wagagai Peak (4,321m), Masaba Summit (4,152m), and across Masaba Table (4,020m). The trek starts from base camp above Bugiboni and passes farms, montane forest, bamboo zone, and heathlands. Hikers reach Masaba Camp, then climb to Masaba Table and Wagagai Peak before descending to Sasa River Camp or Mude Camp. The final day follows the Sasa Trail back to base camp via Dirigana Falls. The trek offers views of waterfalls, valleys, and cliffs. However, the fast altitude gain makes this 3-day trek risky, and a 4-day trek is safer for proper acclimatization.
Day 1: From base camp at 1,720m, hike to Masaba Camp at 3,745m
Day 2: Hike to Mude Camp or Sasa River Camp at 2,880m
Day 3: Descend back to base camp
