This 10-day Rwenzori trek starts at Trekkers Hostel (1,450m) and climbs to Sine Camp (2,596m). Day 2 reaches Mutinda Camp (3,588m) with an option to Mutinda Lookout (3,975m). Day 3 continues through bogs and valleys to Bugata Camp (4,062m).

From there, trekkers go via Bamwanjarra Pass to Hunwick’s Camp (3,974m). Day 5 summits Mt Baker (4,842m). Day 6 crosses to Lake Kitandara and Margherita Camp (4,485m).

Day 7 climbs Margherita Peak (5,109m). Day 8 summits Mt Speke (4,890m). Day 9 includes Weismann’s Peak (4,620m) before Kiharo Camp.

Day 10 descends through Nyamwamba Valley back to base camp.

• Start the trek at Trekkers Camp at 1,450 meters and hike through the Afro Montane Forest to Sine Camp at 2,596 meters.

• Walk through tall forest with many birds and chances to see blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and sometimes L’Hoest monkeys.

• Visit Enock’s Falls near Sine Camp and enjoy views of waterfalls surrounded by thick forest.

• Climb through bamboo forest and reach Kalalama Camp before continuing to Mutinda Camp at about 3,588 meters.

• Hike to Mutinda Lookout at about 3,975 meters for wide views of the Rwenzori Mountains, Kasese town, and Lake George.

• Cross the Mutinda Valley with tussock grass, alpine flowers, and giant lobelia plants on the way to Bugata Camp.

• Pass Bamwanjarra Pass at about 4,450 meters with views of Mount Stanley, Mount Baker, and other Rwenzori peaks.

• Spot rare alpine plants such as giant groundsel and giant lobelia and watch the Malachite Sunbird feeding on lobelia flowers.

• Summit Mount Baker at 4,842 meters and walk across glacier areas with views of surrounding peaks.

• Visit Lake Kitandara and climb Scott Elliot Pass on the way to Margherita Camp.

• Summit Margherita Peak at 5,109 meters on Mount Stanley, the highest point in the Rwenzori Mountains.

• Summit Mount Speke at about 4,890 meters.

• Optional climb to Weismann’s Peak at 4,620 meters.

• Cross Oliver’s Pass and descend to Kiharo Camp set in a deep valley with cliffs and thick vegetation.

• Walk down the Nyamwamba Valley with views of rivers, waterfalls, moss covered rocks, and forest.

• Finish the trek through mountain forest trails back to the base camp.
